The Unicorns played a strong set, whose theme seemed to be death, beginning with "I don't wanna die" and ending with "I'm ready to die." A couple of weeks later, Nick commented that "It's all about death from now on."

This show was sold out. Everyone picked on this drunk loser guy who kept shouting at Phil Elvrum
(microphones) about a cosmic sausage beltway and kurt cobain being alive somewhere, eating food
out of a can. The Unicorns played with a new drummer (whom they'd played with once before) named Brendan
Reed, who was a lot of fun. Considering he only had one day to learn the entire set, I'd say he (and
they) did pretty good. Also, he lit the cymbal aflame while Nick was singing "i'm ready to die over and
over", after which a nearby plastic bag caught fire.
